    1805

On the 9th of October, 1802, Gauss married Johanna Ostoff. Once married he finally admitted that only now he could have a happy personal life, since even at the age of 7 the only thing he ever did was work and study. In a way because of Gauss's high and intellectual standard, he never had a regular childhood or a social life that didn't involve work. You can say that his marriage with Johanna was what gave him true joy and relaxation for once. On the same year his benefactor, the Duke of Brunswick died fighting for the Persian army.
