1832
1832 was a rather turbulent year of Gauss. He and his family got into a growing argument about the future and where they were going to finally settle in. Gauss had been offered a a opportunity to work in the Berlin University, one of the most awarded in the whole country. Friederica (Gauss's wife) and their children were already packing up for this new stage in their life, but Gauss proposed they stayed in Göttingen where he had already grown fond of. Also along this year, Gauss's mother became extremely ill. When tragedy seemed to have finally ended, Frederica caught an even more contagious sickness which eventually put her down.
