Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss, an intellectual genius whom shaped modern-day mathematics. All areas of mathematics, you name it: algebra, arithmetics and most importantly geometry. Born in the large city of Brunswick, Germany, Gauss impressed many, even at a very young age. Creating laws, theorems and even tracing celestial bodies orbit, made this man one of the most influential characters of the 18th and 19th century, allowing him to even win the Copley Medal in 1938. His clarity of thought astonished all and lead him to the path of discovery. Questioning, the road to success was in his questions, always testing what he doubted. That was his key to greatness, he didn't even consider himself to be the smartest or the most knowledgeable mathematician.
"If others would but reflect on mathematical truths as deeply and continuously as I have, they would make my discoveries."
